Due to COVID 19, the WPRD and several other recreational departments decided to postpone their spring baseball and softball seasons until the fall. Well, it is now time get back on the field! Signups are now open for the 2020 baseball and softball season. Playing age will be as of May 1 for baseball and January 1 for Softball. All Dixie Youth Rules will apply for the baseball league and all Babe Ruth Rules will apply for the softball league. All players are required to play within the elementary school district in which they reside just as they would have in the spring. Players who live in a district that will not take part in our fall season may play with a town that is offering the program.
All the league details have not been worked out by league officials, but games look to start in late Aug. to early Sept. All towns involved will try to work around the usual fall programs to give players the opportunity to play multiple sports if desired. COVID 19 guidelines will be created by league officials before the start of the season and must be followed to ensure the safety of our players and fans.
