Big Trash Day coming up on Thursday, May 6th!The Town of Wallace provides Big Trash Day once a quarter to its solid waste customers. This is done on the first Thursday starting in February, May, August, and November. All items should be placed at curbside by 7am on the day of pickup. Details on how to volunteer, and regarding the free landfill day guidelines are below.NCDOT Litter Sweep & Free Landfill Drop-Off on Saturday, April 17The Duplin County Solid Waste Department is participating in the North Carolina DOT litter sweep on Saturday, April 17, 2021. The landfill/transfer station at 325 Landfill Road, Rose Hill, will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for all residential trash FREE of charge.Residential trash items that are eligible for drop-off include trash, household items like furniture and mattresses, tires, appliances, metal, electronics, yard debris, and recyclable materials such as aluminum cans, plastic, cardboard, etc. Please do not take to the local collection sites. No contractors or businesses, please.Please be prepared to separate and place items in the appropriate area(s). If you have any questions about any items, please call 910-289-3091. We encourage anyone interested in helping with roadside cleanup to contact Dean Butts with the NCDOT office in Kenansville at 910-296-8703 for supplies.
